Come and Dine~

I am sitting on my deck this morning listening to the birds make beautiful harmony. It is quiet at Farming On Faith but not for long. Today is our last day with my nephew and his family. My Aunt Kim from Colorado has been here too. We have had a wonderful time. Thought I would share some more of Gypsy Girl's photos

I am sitting on my deck this morning~ I have come to dine. Last night my Brian took me out for supper for our Anniversary ~it was really good. But this morning I have come to dine on God's Word. God created Heaven and Earth with His Words. He created all that has life ~not with a magic wand~He Spoke it all into existence. His words permeated with life. God's words are powerful and He gave us His very Word of God~ what a blessing. I treasure my Bible!

John 6:35 (KJV)

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst

John 8:12(KJV)

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

For those of you who follow my blog ~ you know that I have been having myself a real good mid-life crisis. Whoever named it that ought to have their heads examined. Really I mean I don't want to buy a corvette and have an affair. No~ my Ford escape~ which my man bought for me and placed in my front yard with a giant yellow bow ~is just fine for me.  That very man that that gave me that once in a lifetime ~picture perfect moment~ will always be the love of my life. I am talking about a stay-at-home~homeschool mom~ that has worked herself right out of a job. I just feel so ~displaced right now. Now I know that is silly. In fact when my aunt ~ more like my sister~ this one right here in the picture below~ went through this about 8 years ago I said to her, "Stop being so silly ~ you raised Godly independent  children~ this is normal~ it is God's will."  I thought she was crazy crying all those tears because her children got married and moved away. Oh am I eating my words with a spoonful of sugar~ they still are not going down much better.

As you can see ~she is over it now!

She is enjoying these grand babies for sure!
In fact~ I don't know anyone who enjoys life more than Kim!

Life changes~ sometimes for the better and sometimes~ well not so much~ for the better. But it changes non-the-less.

We had a guest preacher at our church last night that asked the question~"What can you hang your hat on?"  He shared some real tough times he went through in his life ~ the worst being the loss of a child. His answer was that no matter if we are experiencing good times or bad to endure and react as Christ would. In prison the Apostle Paul suffered like Christ. No matter what we are going through we can handle it as Christ would. IF WE ARE WALKING WITH HIM.

There is only one way to know how Christ would handle each of our daily stresses ~and that is reading God's Word. We try so many times to handle this life in our own strength. We can "come and dine" on God's Word and be filled with wisdom, understanding and get grace for whatever we may face in this life. The Bible is not just to be read~ it is to be mulled over,  chewed and digested into our spiritual being much like food~ it delivers nourishment for our souls. It breathes life into our weary mind and body. It gives us physical life.

Jeremiah 15:16

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

Is your soul rushed and weary? Come to the Bread of Life.  Come to the table~come to have a slow meal. I promise you ~ you will leave refreshed and ready to face the challenges and the joys of life.

Psalm 34:8 (KJV)

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

I am off to make some more memories~ hope you have a wonderful day!
