Today in my devotions I read this story~ paraphrased in my own words.
It tells about a man who was driving in a car~ that was on it's last leg. He was driving down a desolate road when his engine died. He rolled to the side of the road and another driver stopped to assist him. The man opened the hood and begin to work on the car. He signaled for the owner of the car to start the car. It started to his amazement. He thanked the man and told him he was sure it was down for the last time.
The man who stopped to help told him that every car has at least one more start if only you can get it to spark.
30 years later the man who was stranded is a chaplain in a large prison who often tells others the story and how those words remind him time and time again about a fresh start.
We all need a fresh start from time to time. The Word of God is the spark that we need to get moving and on fire for God in this brand New Year!
As we welcome in 2014~ we have a blank new page. 2013 was a year of many losses but so many more gains. We can choose to focus on the loses or we can choose to focus on the goodness and great blessings in our lives. I want to focus on God's Amazing Grace in my life and the lives of those I love.
Remember as long as their is a spark ~ we can make a fresh start!
Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:16, 18-19 KJV
Have a safe and happy
New Year's Eve.
Welcome 2014!
