The Christmas Quilt Review~ What A Way To Start The Christmas Season

I really enjoyed reading this book. I am enclosing the Publisher's description of the book below.  I read a lot of books for review but I have to tell you this one spoke volumes. I love reading Amish books for the enjoyment but this book had some amazing spiritual truths behind the story.

Leah is the sister-in-law to the main character. She is a prickly pear of sorts and difficult to get along with. It seems like we all have one or two pears in our lives. Sometimes the prickly pear is us.

I love how Vannetta~ the author deals out grace in this book. In the book ~Annie is explaining to her husband (who happens to be Leah's brother) that Leah needs love and grace even though she is mean and hard to get along with.  I love what she wrote, "When a thing is broken way down deep inside, it can become infected. It can affect everything else-like the infection in my leg affected my entire body. Like the dirt in the engines you fix affect the entire engine machine. Until the person allows the Lord to see the deepest needs, their deepest fears, they're likely to limp along."

Oh my stars~ that is so true. The older I get I so agree with the author of this book. We need to show grace and love beyond the faults of those we love. The love of others and ultimately the love of God turns Leah's heart around. This book is a must for your Christmas break reading.

This is an amazing book of love and grace all wrapped up in a Christmas package. I rate this book 5 + stars.

About the book~Annie’s life is deliciously full as the Christmas season approaches. She helps her husband, Samuel, attend to the community’s minor medical needs. She occasionally assists Belinda, the local midwife, and most days, she finds herself delivering the buggy to her brother Adam. Annie’s sister-in-law Leah is due to deliver their first child before Christmas morning, and Annie is determined to finish a crib quilt before the boppli arrives. With six weeks to go, she should have no problem . . . but God may have a different plan. Leah is rushed to the English hospital when the infant arrives early, and Annie discovers the Christmas quilt may hold a far greater significance than she ever imagined.
