Good Morning Blog Friends~
This is our second day of school. I was asked yesterday how many of our children are still at home. Bitter sweetly~ I have to say just Caleb. He will be wrapping up his school work within the next year or so. We are coming to the end of our homeschool journey. So.... we plan on making lots of memories this year. 22 years of schooling has passed in the blink of an eye.
This is my Washington grandbaby~ who has marked all over his face. He is quite proud of himself. My father was talented in art and has passed the talent down. All of my children are a little artsy ~ so it just stands to reason~ poor Boston just could not help himself.
Do you remember what is was to dream? Yesterday morning~ Caleb and I had our devotion on this very subject. When I was a young girl not much older than my youngest child I had a dream that led me to Bible College. I had a dream of doing something big for God. I envisioned the possibilities of what I could do to expand the kingdom of Heaven.
What happens to our dreams? Well if we are not careful~ Time and troubles~ trials and temptations captivate our thoughts. The cares of life sometimes steal our laughter~ the song in our heart and hope from our soul. Life has a way of robbing us of our dreams. Sometimes when hard things come along we feel like we have lost our joy in the abundant life that God gives so freely. It leaves us trying to fill our own cup while simultaneously we are draining it. If we are not careful we stop dreaming. God is just waiting to fill that empty cup to over flowing.
It is so important that we stop and remind ourselves that this world is not our home. We are just passing through. We get so busy with living life that we need to be reminded to take our eyes off the temporal things and focus on the things of God.
As I recount what I have done for Christ~ I want to do more so much more. BUT~ I have raised children who love God. That is by far the most important thing I could have done with my life. Now I am dreaming and praying about what my children and grandchildren can do to further the kingdom. I am blessed beyond measure with earthly goods but more importantly I am blessed with a family who love each other and love God. This morning ~ my cup is overflowing!
Proverbs 19:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
As we begin this new school year let us all find a vision to further the kingdom and may we never stop dreaming.
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
