As long as I can see your face!

Matthew 4:1 King James Version (KJV)

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

Everything Jesus did on this earth was for our example to follow. Do you want to follow Jesus? I mean really follow Jesus~ because if you do~ it will show! Where is your heart? Where do you spend most of your time? Where do you spend your money? I really want to follow Jesus. Sometimes it is just plain knock down hard.

Shortly after the baptism of Christ He was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to fast and pray for 40 days and nights. At the end of this time Satan comes~ that rotten dirty tempter ~ tempting our Saviour. That is so how he plays. He tempts us when we are at our weakest! Jesus ~ all man but all God ~ withstood his tempting and began His powerful life of earthly ministry.

At the beginning of His ministry He was set apart for a time in a desert place by the Holy Spirit.  God's ways are never our ways. It seems just when I feel most ready to accomplish something great for the Lord~ I find myself in the wilderness. How about you do you feel all alone in the wilderness today? I sure do! This is so frustrating to me. Why ~ when you are most passionate about doing God's will would He set you aside all alone?

My faith this morning is believing that just as Jesus was taken to the wilderness to gain strength even so must I need to be in my own wilderness to gain strength. I mean God All Mighty did not really need to gain strength. For Heaven's sake He was God. He must have wanted to set an example for us to follow.

I am encouraging myself this morning in hopes that some of you may just need encouraged too!  No matter what your wilderness is this morning know that as you see your dreams getting farther and farther away that this drive into the wilderness is not an easy one but God has a plan for you! Spend this time with Him ~ saturating yourself in the Word of God. In faith believe that God has great things ahead in your life.
