Do You See What I See?
Matthew 2:9-11
King James Version (KJV)
9When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
To be honest this morning I see a messy house ~ only half of my baking is done. My decorations are not my usual. Just not at all happy with them! However my chicken coop was cleaned from top to bottom yesterday~ so it looks nice. I see so much not done!
Normally I have it all together this time of year. I love Christmas ~ I mean I plan for it all year. This year is extra special because all four of our children will be home for a Christmas meal! I have been counting down the days.
But life has just not cooperated this year. SO ~ what am I going to do?
I am NOT going to SEE all the "THINGS" left undone. Instead I am going to choose to see what Christmas is all about!
It is about the love that My Brian has been showing me since my father passed away~ he has even taken up loading the dishwasher. WHAT A MAN! And oh how he made my heart sing after a long day at the hospital~ I drove up my driveway with two beautiful fresh wreaths hanging on my pillars and the house all lit up with Christmas lights. I JUST LOVE THAT MAN!
I see that my mom is mending~ getting back to her ornery self. I see an answer to prayer ~ my sister's test came back not cancer. I choose to see that although my heart is sad that I won't see my Dad this Christmas ~ he is spending his first Christmas with Jesus. I choose to see that my children are healthy and my grandbabies~ ~well they are just perfect. I choose to see all the blessings I don't deserve but am so thankful for. I see a family who love Jesus~ including my sister and brother and their families.
Know what else I SEE?~ I see that Star of Bethlehem that still shines for us all! In all the Christmas lights I am reminded that the same star that pointed all to the Christ child still shines for us today. For all that seek Him and put their trust in Jesus~ He is the bright and morning star that lights our path today. He continues to shine for a lost and dying world.
Revelation 22:16-17
King James Version (KJV)
16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely
This morning as I hurry about to get to the Homeschool Christmas Party I choose to see my time I have left with my boy~ who is quickly turning into a man~ as a blessing.
I will choose to see the light of Jesus today ~ and I pray that others will see that light in me! Yep~ today I choose to SEE all my blessings not all the things that just didn't get done!
Have a very merry day!
