Change~ Our Church Move

( Our son is the third one from the left.)

Every week millions of people gather in churches all over our country. Many choose not to attend for whatever reason. Some feel that church is not important in their lives.

How do you see church? How do you think of church?

The Apostle Paul~ while in prison~ wrote to the church in Philippi.

Philippians 1:3

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

I would say that Paul loved the church. While in chains in a Roman prison ~ his thoughts were on the church~ it brought joy to him.

Every church member should feel joy about his church. The church is not a building but rather the people who make up the membership. I would not be the person I am today if it had not been for a good Bible preaching church. I love church.

The New Testament Church mission should be: 1) to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person~ The Gospel ; 2) to spread the Gospel to those who may never hear on foreign  fields~Missions; 3) to edify, encourage, strengthen and care for the each member~Fellowship.

The greatest reason to join a church is because you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and you want to be identified with Him. Jesus died for the church and I want to spend my life serving Him through my church. Church is so very important to the life of a believer.

I have been a member of the same church for 40 years. Well~ outside of when I lived in different states for  short periods of time. I was a little bus kid ~who knew from the first time I walked into church ~that God gently put me there and I wanted to stay forever.

So it is was with great prayer and fasting that God had to make it clear that it was indeed Him calling us to move to a new church. We questioned and reasoned with God for a couple of years until He made it quite clear that it was His will for us to serve at a new church~ Harvest Baptist Church in Savannah, Mo.

My husband and I realize that God is stretching our faith once again. It is a little country church very small in comparison to our old church. It is with joy I tell you there is great peace and joy in being in the center of God's will. Our hearts will always be apart of our old church~ we love the Pastor and the people. They are and will continue to be like family. We love them very much!

We are to listen to God and follow His leading only. I know many may not understand ~ yet  we know we are right where God wants us to be.

Changes ~ are not always easy but change is good!  We are so excited to be welcomed into our new church family and we have already rolled up our sleeves and started to serve. God is good!
