Planting A Garden For Someone Else~

The past couple of days I have been planting my garden. That in itself is not unusual except our home is for sale. As I was planting and watering I couldn't help but wonder if I will enjoy the fruits of my labor or will someone else eat the fresh fruits and veggies from my garden.

It made me think of my Christian Womanhood Teacher at Bible College ~ Mrs. Johnson. She told us in class that there would be days we wouldn't feel like cooking for a husband who hurts our feelings. And at times we will not want to be loving to children who walk all over us.  Times we would not feel like forgiving a sister or brother who may have wounded our spirit. It is during those times that you need to remember to make breakfast for Jesus.

You don't know how many times I have heard her voice echo that saying in my head~ "Make breakfast for Jesus."  Yet~ it is the little things in life that make a big difference. After all I want others to love me when I am unlovable.  Changing the world one kind deed at a time.

Proverbs 11:25

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

When we bless others with the intention to bless them~ we will be abundantly blessed. That is what God is telling us in this verse.

We all have grandiose ideas of doing great things in life but I have come to the conclusion I may never get far from home. After all I have been homeschooling at home for 22 years. I have not been too far from home. I pray that the small things I do each day in the lives of my family and those that I meet in my day to day life will be touched and will make a difference for the cause of Christ.

Making a difference in the lives of others can be a daily thing ~ by just touching those lives of people that cross our paths with a little act of kindness. It may be cooking breakfast for Jesus when we don't feel like it , praying for someone or planting a garden for someone else to enjoy.

Ezekiel 22:30

And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

I pray that God will give me the courage to stand in the gap and give to others by being a blessing. Maybe changing the world comes by trusting that God will lead and guide us to be willing to put ourselves out for others~ even when we don't know who they are ~one little kind deed at a time.
