I Almost Missed It~

Yesterday after teaching Art all day I was a little tired and grumpy. It seemed one of my art classes had spring fever or maybe ants in their pants. I had a head ache and I was just bone  tired. I came home and my sweet husband did not mind having a dinner of ham and cheese sandwiches and left over potato salad~ bless his heart. I had just had enough of that day. Ever feel like that?

So I cleaned up the kitchen and I had things I needed to get done. But I decided to call my friend and see how she was feeling. I walked and talked going around and around the pond until I started feeling a bit better. I think I needed a break from "Wedding Check Lists."  We laughed and laughed and then we cried a little bit. Praise God for friendships. I mean the kind of friend you know you can call at  2 in the morning with a broken heart "kind of friend."

After talking off some stress and marching around my Zion ~ I sat on my front porch and rocked. I listened to the frogs sing and watched the sun go down. Shades of orange, red and yellow streaked across the sky. I felt God's presence. And I almost missed it because I was too anxious over my agenda.
I talked with God and He stilled my anxious soul.

Life holds uncertainties and unknowns~ but His beauty is all around us~ just as constant as He is.

In the closing chapters of Job~ he reminds us what an awesome God we have. He defined the features of the earth~ He controls the weather~ He cares for the wildlife.  May we never be too busy to appreciate the intricacies ~ the mysteries~ the magnificence of the universe and it's Creator.

Job 33:4-12
4The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
5If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
6Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
7Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
8Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
9I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
10Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
11He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
12Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
