Raise Your Glass To Life~ To Love

Song of Solomon 5:1

King James Version

I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved

Happy Fabulous Friday. We have been spring cleaning the house~ the yard~ the tractors( Brian has been anyways) ~ the chicken coop. It has been more like the end of May ~ as I know we are all having warmer temperatures. The chickens are laying again and the the birds are singing. I think I will plant some pansies this weekend just not sure if I should skip spring flowers or not. What are you doing? I truly can't see us freezing now.

But mostly we are in "Wedding" mode. Our Hannah's wedding is three weeks away. SO forgive me if I have all things romantic on my mind.

We have all heard things like~ "Life ain't (still a bad word in my book~ forgive me) no picnic." If life gives you lemons make lemonade." "Life is hard."

I am one who likes a reason to celebrate. My Brian teases me each evening when saying the blessing at dinner by saying~ " Bless this celebration." If I don't have a reason I will make one up. But a reality check always reminds us that there are more valleys than mountaintops.

In the valley is where the bees nest and the poison ivy spreads according to Patsy Clarmont~ I just love that little Pixie. The "school of hard knocks" is part of life but if you are like me ~ the crushing blows of life still catch me off guard and  paralyze me for but a moment or two~ well maybe a year. It can at times leave me speechless and rob me of my breathe. But sometimes it is here in the valley we seem to do much of our picnicing~ the last year has been so in our family. It is in the valley that we sojourn.

After a mountaintop "picnic" with Moses and Elijah~ Jesus lead the disciples back down into the valley to finish their work that led to insults~ and death.

Why~ Jesus was motivated by love for you and me. He was an example to His disciples and to us. His love will keep us secure in the midst of our times in the valley.

Life may be hard but God is always good. In the valley is were the grass and flowers grow and where the birds sing. Everything seems to grow best in the valley. Last summer we went to the top of a Mountain in Colorado. Although it was beautiful ~ looking down made me sick to my stomach and I could not breathe well. When we got to the top ~ the life had stopped growing. Nothing grows on the top of the mountain.

SO it is with life~ it is in the valley that God teaches us that we can trust Him. If God leads us to it ~ He will lead us through it.  He is motivated by love to give us what we need even when we don't understand.
