I Am Playing Today~

Good Morning Bloggy Friends~

This morning I am making plans to do nothing but play today. Yep~ the whole day is full of anything I care to do.

I am sitting in my room at Tan-Tar-A Resort sipping a cup of hot coffee ~ listening to the birds sing. The trees are all sporting their spring blooms, the coccus are in full bloom and the daffodils are smiling. Missouri is beautiful when it comes to life in the spring. Today is going to be a perfect 70 degrees.

Wish you could join me for a cup of coffee. I am not even going to think of my Hannie's wedding ~which is three short weeks away. There is much to be done when I head home tomorrow but for today I am going to just play.

I have been coming here my entire life. As a teenager we would come here for the Missouri Youth Conference~what sweet memories. As an adult I have come here for as long as I can remember for conferences and every March with my Brian for his work. If only I could slow down the hands of time. Seems like every year we turn the clocks forward ~ we seem to speed them up.

I am a slave to the clock~ always racing it with my constant to-do list ever on my mind. Most days I need more time than the clock seems to offer. (NOT TODAY) I wonder did Jesus ever struggle with this~ if so how did He handle it?

I mean imagine all the people who wanted something from Him. I wonder did He have someone mad at Him for not spending enough time with them or not doing enough for Him?

Let's think about a day recorded of His life. One day in Mark 1:21-34 ~ Jesus began His day in the synagogue to teach~ which He did with authority and rightly so. Then things got crazy~ a man possessed with a demon started shouting at Jesus. Calmly but sternly Jesus cast out that demon.

He truly was born to die but He sured seemed to be a man who was busy with the do, do, do and go, go go.

When He left he synagogue ~ worn to a frazzle after encountering a demon I am sure~ He went to His friend's house. Peter's mother-in-law was very sick and needed healing. He must have had many who wanted to be His friend.  Later, the entire town gathered outside so He could heal more sick people~ and cast out more demons. I can only imagine how tired the man~ Jesus~ must have been.

How did Jesus handle the pressures that were placed upon Him ~ His calling and the needs of the those in His life and those who needed His touch?

Life gets demanding and hectic. We need to follow our Saviour's example. What did He do when He was worn out and tired? I mean planning a wedding can't be as tiring as casting out demons? Well maybe!??? In the Scriptures it shows many times when Jesus needed to get away from the crowds~ those demanding His time and attention and spend some time alone with His Father~ GOD.

May we all see the important need to start our day alone with God and seek His help~ it is the only way to handle our day.

Mark 1:35

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Praying you have a wonderful day~
