I don't know about you but I just need to hear something positive this morning. We seem to focus on the negative things in this life~ don't we? Nothing like waking up to find out our federal government has shut down~ of all things.
It is in times of chaos and uncertainty that it is good to remind ourselves that we are the apple of God's eye. Yep ~ I just needed to hear that today. In the midst of drama we must focus on how much God loves us and blesses us each and every minute of the day.
Zechariah 2:8
For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
Psalm 17:8
Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
Just like this last verse here where David is asking God to keep him as the apple of God's eye. I too want to say to God ~ "Do you still love me? Are you watching God? I feel abandoned sometimes down here. Do you see what's going on? "
But when I get into God's Word and spend some time with Him ~ He reminds me how much He loves me and that He is still in control. Even if the United States should happen to crumble and fall. I pray that it is never so ~but if it should~ my faith and hope rests on God and God alone.
I want to keep Him as the apple of my eye!
Let's all join in prayer today for our great country ~ that it would once again turn it's heart back to God!
