Good Morning Blog Friends~ Guess Where I Am?

I am writing to you from Russell Kansas. You may be asking why in the world are you in Russell, Kansas?~ To which I would answer, "I am really not sure."  We spent the day yesterday in Yoder, Kansas with the Amish. I am so sad to say that the Amish here have no businesses on their homesteads~ really sad. They all seem to work at businesses in town~bummer. I think they are missing out. I told them of our Jamesport neighbors and they acted as though I were ferhoodled. It was a fun little town but not at all like the Amish I have visited in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Missouri. All in all we had a wonderful day.
We had a good time in the pool making memories last night with the kids. This will be our last vacation with our Hannie for she will be getting married next May. So this momma is cherishing each and every moment.
Today we are headed to Colorado ~ woo hoo! Talk with you soon!

Carriage Crossing Restaurant

We had lunch here~ cooked by an Amish lady. It was so very good. The biggest roast beef and gravy sandwich on homemade bread covered with gravy~ Yummy. It was worth the whole trip!

Re post~  Devotion

Psalms 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth.
Another morning~the persistent chirp of red winged black birds and every kind of bird you can imagine outside our bedroom window awakened me. I glanced at the clock~4:45 AM. My those birds are early risers!
I found myself wide awake! I have a to do list a mile long before we leave for vacation Saturday morning~so I figured I should just get out of bed........sigh! I slipped into the kitchen and made myself a cup of hot raspberry tea(Laura I am still enjoying my tea~) I wondered out on my back deck where those noisy birds were attending to their busy morning~in a not so quiet manner let me tell you! I settled into my chair just me and my cup of tea and the best of all my Lord.
"Be still and know that I am God"~I heard Him whisper to me!
I know I will soon be off and running with a thousand responsibilities in a few short minutes but for now I am asking God for His help! I am spending some time just me and Him in deep conversations. In the solitude of our back yard on our little Farming On Faith ~my heavenly chapel~  I am pouring out my concerns, secrets, and asking for strength and wisdom. I instantly feel His peace and calmness rush into my soul. I feel exhilarated by His spirit and ready to face another busy day!
I frequently return to my favorite spot while the world sleeps There I regain the strength for what may come my way and the guidance He always gives! For this I am ever so thankful!

Psalm 5:1-3

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
