Hello My Blog Friends~
The stores are sporting "Back to School supplies"~ don't they know Summer isn't over yet? Our family has been so busy~ I mean busier than usual. And ~ to tell you the truth I am just not ready to get back to the "grind" just yet. How about you? I am hoping to take about three weeks to unwind~listen to the frogs croak and enjoy my fresh brewed Raspberry Tea before I organize another school year.  It will be a busy home school year~with classes to teach and a wedding to plan in the mix. But for today I am going to enjoy the A/C and my Raspberry Tea because it appears most of the entire country is in a heat wave. What are you up to today?

Just Good Medicine~
More is being said about health and nutrition than every before. To be honest with you it is all so conflicting you just don't know what to believe anymore.

Miss Billie gave me a magazine on Natural Healing. Now you know there are people that claim to have the answers to good health but to be honest they don't appear to be a picture of health at all. Miss Billie is 87 and has a beautiful posture and still works out with her trainer two times a week. She is only taking high blood pressure medicine and she takes supplements. Her mind is sharp as a tack. Her body has grown tired but she has lived a very healthy life~ without disease or any illness. So I tend to listen to her a bit more than some of the trending health fads. I think she may some answers to living a long healthy life!

I read an article this morning by Dr. Marty Sullivan ~ a leading expert of integrative medicine ~ he claims people with strong spiritual beliefs tend to live longer. He goes on to explain that they are less likely to feel depressed and anxious. In studies of late~ being spiritual  does more for a person than not smoking. They are less likely to develop heart disease, cancer, and other illnesses.

He goes on to explain~"People who pray experience the relaxation response- a drop in blood pressure, heart rate, and levels of stress hormones such as cortisol."

Wow~ I think I believe this finding. I find in my own life when difficult situations arise in my life if I turn them over to God ~ I am filled with peace. But when I fret and worry over them instead of taking them to the throne~ I feel sick to my stomach and I am anxious. It is so unnecessary!  My Heavenly Father holds this world in His hands and He is fully aware of everything we face on this journey we are traveling. It is just good medicine to take all our worries, concerns and issues to Him in the good times and in the bad times. Trusting the Lord is just plain old good medicine~ without any side effects!

Are you praying~ reading your Bible and trusting God today~ have you had a good dose of Medicine for you soul today?

Proverbs 17:22

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
