I bought a replica of the Solar System for our school room one year. It was plastic and had wires that held the planets in order just where they should be. When you turned it on the planets would rotate in order. The only problem was when it turned on~ the planets all started to fling in every which direction. Yep ~once in a while Mars or Jupiter would go flying across the room.
You know our flimsy replica fell apart and I got so mad at the thing~ which took up so much room~ I threw it away.
We never have to worry ourselves with the thought of the world spinning off it's place in the universe or Mars or Saturn bumping into us. Why? Because Jesus actually sustains the entire universe. The Lord Jesus holds our world together. He mantains the natural laws that maintain our galaxy~ Praise God it is not the Democrats or the Republicans. For Pete's sakes if it were so~ we would be spinning off our axis for sure right now. What a nightmare! Our Creator upholds all things by His power.
Colossians 1:17
17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Hebrews 1:3
3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
Jesus in His power keeps this whole thing going by simply commanding it to be so. I am so thankful that He has the whole world in His hands but I am more thankful that He walks with me and He talks with me. And He tells me that I am His own. He gives me life and breath and satisfies my soul. And I know without a doubt that until He returns I can trust Him.
Acts 17:25
25Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
It appears that we are living in uncertain times but as a believer I know that God will not allow anything to happen that is not needful. Until the day that He calls us home~ we can trust that He~ the One who keeps Jupiter from falling~ is the One who holds us up as well!
